Day 3 - Breakfast -> Checkout -> Cab to Rome Airport -> Flight to Athens -> Transit at Athens -> Flight to Santorini -> Cab to Kavalari Hotel -> Check in Kavalari Hotel (Review)

We had an early breakfast as the Viator driver was picking us up at 715am. Our flight to Santorini was 11am. The shared cab to the airport costed $61. Driver picked us at 7am, 15mins ealier than agreed. There was some event in town and roads were blocked and so he had to race to the airport after picking up remaining passengers. Flight on Aegean Airlines to Santorini was uneventful and we arrived at Santorini at around 420pm after transitting at Athens for about an hour. The airfare was about $300/person.

Airlines provided pasta, chips and water on board - it was a 2 hr flight

Hotel Kavalari at Fira arranged a cab to pick us fromthe airport and we paid 24€ for that. After a short ride, we arrived at the Fira Square. The porter, Andy, from the hotel was there to greet us and helped us with the luggages. After check in, he helped us with the luggages down the many steep and wide stairs - our room was right at the bottom of the hotel, 5 stories down. We tipped him 5€ upon checkout and passed him the bottle of complimentary wine. He was such a friendly and strong man who singlehandedly handled all big and heavy luggages everyday up and down those steep and winding stairs wihtout fail!

The hotel is very beautiful, perched on the steep slope of the hill. From lobby to breakfast area, every level of the hotel, was very well decorated and had a homely feel. One of my favourite hotel for this trip.

Our room was a loft and the garden outside was veyy refreshing. The design was typical of Santorini. Water pressure of shower was ok and it has a living area with a sofa for third person. The comfortable bed was upstairs on the loft. Looks like a mini apartment without kitchen. It was very cozy, pleasant, homely, welcoming and soothing.

We stayed here for 3 nights and the rate was 130€ per night including breakfast. Compared to other hotels along the same stretch, this was a great steal and deal! It is also very near to the bus station.

Fucntional and clean bathroom with good water pressure.
