Hubby took a last photo of the Kato windmill one last time before we departed from Mykonos later in the morning.
Kato Windmill
After breakfast and checking out, the hotel provided a shuttle to the airport and soon, we were on our way to Athens. It was a very short flight under an hour. We paid $155.14 for 2 tickets on Aegean Airlines.
The 5 windmills of Kato can be seen- can you spot it?
Airlines provided a chocolate crossiant as snack on board
We took the subway to Monastiraki Station after arriving at Athens and the airbnb host was waiting for us at the Monastraki subway station. And we could check in early.
Subway ticket from airport to town at 18€ for two.
We stayed here 3 nights and paid $297 total. Price was a steal for the location. Bnb was a newly renovated studio apartment enclosed in an old building on the 4th floor. The airbnb was neat but the floor was not clean. We had to wear slippers throughout our stay. Thank God we had a pair of slippers from Adonis Hotel that we could use. Washing machine was a bonus. We finally could wash our dirty clothes. Hubby complained that the pillows were smelly so he put a clean towel on top of the pillow. Kitchen was pretty functional. There were not enough hooks to hang your clothes and towels inthe bathroom. Hot water was only available after heating it up for 15mins and the next person need to wait for another 15mins before he can shower. Water flooded the stall and could not drain properly. Sink was also very small and did not have sufficient space to put toiletrie, toothbrush or tooth paste. There were no dark curtains for privacy in the bedroomThe plus is the balcony and its location, right in the heart of Athens/Plaka near Monastiraki square, walkable to all attractions, including Mt lycabette. Host was friendly and recommended places to eat. Pretty responsive.
Small toilet/bathroom – no space to hang clothes or towels during shower. Thank God I brought S hooks.
