After the first traffic junction and a side lane, soon, we spotted the traditional & classical meji-era Takegawa Onsen 竹瓦温泉. It offers sand bath @1000yen as well as the tradiitonal hot spring @100yen. The onsen water is known to be very hot.
Our initial plan was to try the Dangojiru set lunch, a specialty in Beppu, at cafe Takeya that was opposite from the Takegawa Onsen 竹瓦温泉. But to our disappointment, it was closed for the day. So we proceeded to Youme shopping centre for our bites.

Youme Shopping Centre
After roaming for a while in the shopping centre, not knowing what to eat, we decided to take a simple lunch at one of the restaurant at the basement. The name of the restaurant was 天风. There were samples with prices outside the eatery so you can pick and choose what you liked.

I ordered vegetable tempura set which costed 680yen. It came with rice and miso soup.
Hubby ordered the rainbow sashimi rice set which costed 880yen which also came with miso soup.
Lunch was ok. Prices of food were very much cheaper in Kyushu, compared to Tokyo. After lunch, it was time to leave for Kannawa.
