Day 9 - Ban Jelacic Square - > St Catherine Church -> St Mark Church -> Lotrscak Tower - > Stone Gate -> Zagreb Cathedral - > Dinner at NOKTURNO BISTRO-PIZZERIA

After check in, headed immediately to the Ban Jelacic Square which was about 10mins away since we have only few hours here.

Ban Jelacic Square and its surrounding. The observation 360 deck is also in this square. But we do not see anyone up there so decided against going.

From the square, we continued uphill here towards St Mark Church in the upper town where we were rewarded with a view of the lower town

Zagreb Cathedral. Renovation for half of its tower had been on for a long while, >half a year.

En route to St Mark Church with a very unique roof and its surroundings

Lotrscak Tower

Funicular. You can take this from the lower to the upper town if you do not want to walk.

The view from upper town was pretty rewarding.

Stone Gate which was a mini church

My daughter visited the museum of broken relationship while we roamed in town. Narrow street with graffti. This path goes to the lower town. We came up this way.

Back lower town and the square

Can you spot the cathedral?

Visited the cathedral before having dinner at Bistro Nokturno at the recommendation of a blogger.
Zagreb Cathedral

Enroute
Wet Market area was very smelly with a piles of uncleared rubbish.

Street leading to the restaurant. Many restaurants lined this street.

The restaurant was packed!
Gaint and humongous bowl of mushroom soup @15 kuna. It can feed 3.

Squid risotto in black ink with lots of suqids @40kuna

Mussel spaghetti@40kuna

Pork Rib with fries @68kuna – very tender and well cooked – delicious!

All dishes were good and service is good too.
Total Bill was 180kuna . It is encouraged to give tips in Zagreb as there was no service charge, unlike Italy. Very satisfying meal both for the taste and the price!

On the way back to bnb, saw this food street lined with restaurants

Enroute to bnb - street food vendor selling corns
