Day 4 - Train to Riomaggiore -> Lunch at Pescato Cucinato-> Riomaggiore Marina

Intercity train to La Spezia before transferring to regional train at La Spezia to Riomaggiore. We arrived Riomaggoire at 1.03pm.

Riomaggiore is the first village of the Cinque Terre on the side of La Spezia. We stayed here for 2 nights.

Cinque Terre, meaning "Five Lands" is a rugged portion of coast on the Italian Riviera and comprises five villages from north to south: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore. The coastline, the five villages, and the surrounding hillsides are all part of the Cinque Terre National Park and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The villages are closed to traffic and are accessible by frequent regional train. Only authorised vehicles are allowed to enter the villages.

Upon arrival at Riomaggiore, we contacted the porter recommended by the host to carry our 2 luggages to the Airbnb which was at the end of the steep end of Via Colombo via many steep steps. The service costed 5euro/bag. Only authorized vehicles are allowed to be driven along the via. After leaving our luggages at the bnb and since checkin time was 4pm, we went to look for Pescato Cucinato, recommended by the bnb host to settle our lunch. We followed the smell to the shop. The shop only has 2 benches outside and it closed for business early that day

Our big combo - We chose and shared the Fried Mixed Combo which costed 8euro. Ingredients were fresh and fried food always taste good. There were also pieces of cod fish in the cone though not a lot.

Gelato as desert

Next stop was the Marina. Hubby took the wrong long route via piazza Vignaicli and people’s houses in the small lanes. Initially wanted to take the ferry to Monterosso but the service was closed due to wind conditions.
