Day 5 - Vernazza -> Monterosso -> Corniglia -> Dinner at Trattoria La Lampara, Riomaggiore

After lunch, took the train to Vernazza. Walked a short portion of the blue path hiking trail to take below picture.
Vernazza is one of the 5 centuries-old villages that make up the Cinque Terre, on northwest Italy’s rugged Ligurian coast. Colorful houses surround its small marina. The Santa Margherita di Antiochia Church has a bell tower topped by an elegant cupola. Clinging to the rocks, Doria Castle is a medieval defensive structure with a cylindrical tower. The Belforte bastion is just below it.

Next stop was Monterosso, the biggest village of Cinque Terra at the most north and famous for its beaches. It is relatively flat, unlike the other 4 villages. It is divided into two small areas: the Old Town and the New Town. The train station is located in the New Town area, which houses many modern beach resorts.

Final destination was Corniglia. Took the shuttle bus up to the town. Below were the 1000 steps stairways to the train station. Well, we did not attempt to walk down!

Had a gelato in the town area and strolled the very narrow streets of this small little town and visited Largo Taragio, Corniglia's main square before getting back to Riomggiore.

Dinner was at Trattoria La Lampara ,recommended by tripadvisor. It was full the night before so I made a reservation during lunch this day. However, it was not packed today. Yesterday it was full house!
Bread

Seafood Risotto

Spaghetti with clams

And tiramisu

Total bill was 68.50 euro . The food here was delicious and impleccable.

We ended the day viewing the Marina at sunset.
