Italy/Croatia Trip 21 Sep- 6 Oct 2018 Summary/Itinerary

The intent of this trip was to go to Croatian but since we redeem the SQ tickets to fly to Rome one way, we decided to visit the rest of the often talked about cities in Italy. By the way, this is my third trip to Rome but since it is the first for my daughter, hubby and I were the tour guides.

It was our first to travel by train in Europe so we were pleasantly surprised that it was so easy to travel by train in Italy. I booked the tickets on trainlne.eu. The connection between Venice to Croatia posed a bit of problem. From Venice airport, one can fly to Zagreb via budget airline which operates once a day. As I do not really trust budget airlines, I was afraid that they will play me out, I opt for a car ride from ondaytrip from Venice to Zagreb. The total fare for 3 persons is about the same for 3 air tickets on the budget air. I was not so sure how to travel by bus to Zagreb as I learnt that one needs to change buses at some place. It sounded inconvenient to me so I opted for the car ride which picked us from doorstep to doorstep. Paymets includes toll fees plus we could have a 1hr stopover at Solvenia, Ljubljana.

Hubby referred Greece to Croatia as the former was more colourful. Cinque Terra and Burano was colourful too. . Another highlight was the Plitvice lakes, western jiuzaigou. I could not appreciate but daughter loved it very much. In fact, I felt bored with the lakes. I’m not really a nature person! Too much nature will bore me!

The Airbnb we stayed this time was very much better than last trip with nice deco, nice beds and strong hot showers! We settled most meals outside though we cooked sometimes and when we finished the rice we brought at the final destination, Dubrovnik, we settled our meals outside! Thank God we brought enough 3-in-1 milo, maggie mee and rice and we finished all of them after Dubronvnik.

It was pleasant trip and I would travel in fall next time to see the fall colours.

Day 3 - Breakfast -> Doumo Bell Tower -> St John Baptistry -> Museum of the Works of the Cathedral(Museo dell'Opera del Duomo) -> Palazzo Vecchio - > Piazza della Signoria -> Ponte Vecchio - > Piazza Pitti - > Lunch at RISTORANTE OSTARIA DEI CEFIRENZE -> Central Market (Mercato centrale) -> Dinner -> Doumo at night
