Kaohsiung/Tainan Trip 31 Dec 2016 - 3 January 2017 Summary/Itinerary

Summary:

Transport to city from Kaohsiung airport is very convenient via KRT. The i-card can be used on both buses and KRT.

Kaohsiung is very polluted with countless and untold motorcycles plying the streets.
Smoking is also unrestricted so you are bombarded with polluted air at every corner of the street.

Other than that, food and transport are good and convenient. Taxi starts at NT85 which is the same also in Tainan.

Credit card payment is not common, compared to cash! We hardly use credit card here.

When ordering food in Kaohsiung or Tainan, one needs to order the dishes via a small paper menu indicated with prices

Tainan is only 12mins away from Kaohsiung via HSR . To reach the city, use THSR shuttle bus.
Sampled only some popular small eats (小吃)as the tummy capacity was limited. 王氏鱼皮 was fresh and sweet, the best meal in Tainan! 口福黑輪 was surprisingly good and cheap.

Extending 4days 3nights to 4 nights may be better if really want to relax as it involves lots of walking though there are not many places of great interest in Kaohsiung.
