From Pier 39, we hailed another UBER to the Golden Gate Bridge Welcome Centre as there were no direct buses from Pier 39 to the Bridge.
Golden Gate Bridge Welcome Centre
Finally, we saw face to face the top attraction & icon of San Francisco!
Our next destination was Chinatown and we planned to have dinner there. We first took bus 28 from the bus stop outside the Welcome Centre
to Lombard Street where the KFC was and walked to Chestnut Street where we transferred bus 30 to Chinatown.
Dragon Gate, entrance to Chinatown.
Chinatown was a great disappointment. I always imagined SFO chinatown to be very vibrant but it was very rundown and old.
Also, many restaurants were not opened. We settled for a noodle shop that was open.
We ordered wanton noodles, claypot chicken rice and vegetables. Not a spectular meal. Total bill including tips was about USD70 paid was in cash.
From Chinatown, it was a short walk to Union Square and Hotel Hebert.
There was a Big Snoopy at Macy's where we window shopped.
Snoopy deco at the Macy's shopping window.
Union Square. Christmas deco was already up.
Trolley at turnaround Powell Street which was painted red and now closed to traffic. No queue though.
F wharves at Market Street.
